Dear Family Members,
We invite you to our Hoelscher-Buxkemper Family Reunion to be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24, 2012, in Columbus, Texas, in beautiful Colorado County.
“Return to Our Roots” to see and experience the locale where Anton Hoelscher, Sr. first settled with part of his family after they arrived in Texas in 1846; his daughter, Elizabeth Buxkemper, followed with her family in 1850. This is our 30th biennial reunion and the first time in 48 years that our reunion has been held in the Frelsburg area, where the story of our family’s life in Texas began. We hope that you help make this the “BIGGEST FAMILY REUNION IN TEXAS” by not only attending, but by also getting involved, so that we can continue the tradition and celebrate many more reunions in the future.
All activities will be held in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 3845 I-10, just west of Columbus, one of the oldest cities in Texas. Spend the weekend visiting with your relatives in air-conditioned comfort. Plenty of free parking is available.
A schedule of activities and a registration form is enclosed, as well as information about the tours of family historic sites on Friday during the day and Saturday morning, an order form for the latest family history book, information on motels and RV parks and an overview of some of the various sites of interest in the area.
In order to adequately plan for meals and other events, we stress the importance of PRE-REGISTRATION AND
PRE-PAYMENT by June 13th. Changes in reservations must be made by June 18th to Elsie Kahlden by telephone

DISPLAY ROOM: Open except during the board meeting on Saturday, the dance and Mass; monitored for safety. Bring your old family photos and mementos for display. See our family scrapbooks. Bring your newspaper clippings that feature news about your family members for the current scrapbook.
RAFFLE: Multiple items, including a handmade quilt, a mahogany entry door with ornate glass window, a Wal-Mart gift card, five panoramic family photos and more. To donate an item, contact Josephine Peters, 979-263-5291.
SILENT AUCTION: Make a bid on some great items. Donations welcome. For more information, contact Patsy Warschak, 979-732-3823.
SOUVENIRS: A selection of souvenirs with our family logo will be available, including shirts, caps, mugs, tote bags and other items.
DOMINO TOURNAMENT: Saturday only, 3-5 p.m. in a designated area. Test your skills at 42 and other domino games.
CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES: Several activities will be available to entertain your children on Saturday afternoon.
NEW BOOK: Our wonderful new family history book will be available for sale. Don’t forget to update your family’s information, i.e. births, marriages, deaths, and addresses.
PANORAMIC PHOTOGRAPH: A panoramic photograph of the reunion attendees will be taken immediately after Mass on Sunday. Orders and payment will be taken by the photographer after the photo session. Don’t miss this opportunity to be included!
