Dear Family Members,
We invite all Family Members to our Hoelscher-Buxkemper Family Reunion, being held on Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18, 2004 in Temple, Texas.
Not only can we make this the “BIGGEST FAMILY REUNION IN TEXAS,” it is the 50th anniversary of our very first reunion, held in 1954 in Westphalia, Texas. Some of us remember the first reunion 50 years ago in Westphalia, others of us were not even born then. It is really a distinction to belong to such a family – and we need all to be involved in helping us stay together so we can celebrate many more reunions in the future.
All activities will be held in the spacious and family friendly Mayborn Convention Center in Temple, 3302 North 3rd Street. Spend the weekend in air-conditioned comfort and forget about the Texas heat. Plenty of free parking available.
A schedule of activities and registration form is on web page, as well as information about the new family book and an order form. In order to adequately plan for your comfort and convenience, we stress the importance of PRE-REGISTRATION and PRE-PAYMENT before July 7th. Changes in reservations must be made by July 12th, by telephone or email. Hotel reservations must be made directly with the hotel.
In addition to the usually features of our reunions; visiting, meals, Mass on Sunday A.M. and Saturday night dance, we will have: Display Room: Open except during the dance and Mass. Bring your old family photos and other mementos for display. See our family scrapbooks! New Book: A room will be open where you can order more books, pick up those already ordered, and also fill out forms on new family members and events. Souvenirs: A wide array of distinctive souvenirs, including set of dominoes embossed with family name. Domino Tournament: Sat only, 3 – 5 p.m. A special room where you can test your skills at 42 and other domino games. Children’s playroom: A supervised setting where your children can watch selected moves and TV from 3 to 5 p.m. Sat only, so parents can visit to their heart’s content! Raffle: A beautiful quilt with theme celebrating our family reunions. Silent Auction: Great items fro you to check out and make a bid in the silent auction.
