The Hoelscher Family of Texas Book by Shirley Burk

At the spring meeting of the Hoelscher-Buxkemper Family Board on April 14, 2013, it was voted to reduce the price of the latest (2013) edition of the Hoelscher Family of Texas, 1846 to 2003.  The remaining books are currently stored in an envirmonmentally controlled setting.  The data i the book includes pictures and stories of the first four generations along with listing of  all known descendants as of December 31, 2003.

Many of you who have the book, or who have seen it, will understand that it will not be possible to publish another book with all this inormation as well as all of the current kin folk.  In the future, any book published will probably start with the fifth generation and may also be divided by sections, i.e. Elizabeth, Anton, Joe, William and Ben.  While family representatvies contiue to collect data, it is felt necessary to dispose of the current books before embarking on publishing another book.

The price of the book will now be $60.00 each, effective on receipt of this family newsletter.  In another area of the newsletter is abook order form.  These books will make a wonderful addition to your library, a wonderful Christmas present for your children and grandchildren, or a gift at any time.  Once the current supply is depleted there will be no more available as it will not be reprinted.

Family respresentatives collecting data are:

Elizabeth – Doris Voltin, Anton – Dottie Frerich, Joe – Linda Binns, William  Marjorie Baumbach & Shirley Burk, Ben – O.A. Bernsen

Along with news regarding family members such as births, marriages, deaths, etc., we will appreciate pictures and stories about fifth generation famiy members  being sent to family representaives also.  Addresses, phone numbers and email addresses for these family representatives can be found on the Board of Directors list in this newsletter.

The BOOK is 10 years old this year, so if you hav enot sent in a family sheet for anything that has happened in your family the past 10 years, please do so.  The family reps are going to be working to update the Family Tree Maker software for each of their families and then consolidate it all together again.  We want to keep up with the family updates so the next book committee has a good starting point.

Members of the Hoelsher  Buxkemper family have recently been in the news.

John Ahers of Portland, Texas recently has an article published in the Diocese of Corpus Christi’s magazine South Texas Catholic, about fellow famiy members Roalie Ordner and Alton Jones, who have been married 75 years.  The full article can be found online at www.southtexascatholic.com. In 2012, Siter Jacinta Berger (Willia Mae Berger – Joe) celecbrated 60 years in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
